Hi Lovlies! I have missed you :) I hope you had a nice Christmas and a Happy New Year. We have been busy little worker bees over here, changing it up! I feel like if I look at something in my house to long it has to be changed, refreshed, something different lol. anyway, here we go. I hope you like this blog addition, I had the idea of layering or "dressing" my room. So, the pics are one step at a time, you know for dramatic effect. ha!
Here it is all stripped down to its skivvies. Strangely, I kindof liked this, probably because after Christmas decor is taken down I turn into a minimalist.
So here are the new blinds, they're just Lowes in stock matchstick bamboo roll-up blinds. They are super easy to put up and they look great, they give that warm and comfy homey feel. They were less than $15-, totally worth it. You can't see very well in this pic, the sun was out in full force today and much appreciated I might add. Winters in Michigan can get a little sun-less at times so when the sun decides to come out we don't complain.
We're getting a little prettier, a little more dressed up! The curtains are Vivian from Ikea, $10- a pair, can't go wrong with them. The curtain rods are from Lowes, they are less than $15- for the complete 4ft set; rod, decorative ends & brackets.
Now it's looking good! This beautiful bedding has somewhat of a story behind it. I was over at the glorious Anthropologie and fell head over heals in love with their bedding, I think you can close your eyes and point and end up with something fantastic but... Well the hubs would not have appreciated it if I would have spent what that beautiful bedding cost so I decided that it wasn't the only bedding in the world, Right? ok so, I was just doing a little online window shopping one day and came upon a Joss and Main ad and guess what? They had this beautiful bedding extremely similar! It's made by Natori and it was a fraction of the cost of Athropologie. I am not knocking Anthropologie, I am all heart eyes over all of their bedding I'm just not a fan of arguing with my hubs over spending what he would call a fortune over bedding and if I change my mind it won't be so bad. wink, wink.
Here's a little bit of a gallery style frame group, they're just sitting on the ledge rather than hanging on the wall but I think it turned out nice. Two of these are prints from a shop on etsy ExpressivePaintings, she does amazing work, I have quite a few of her prints. The In Christ is also a print that we made, it'll be available on here as a free printable. The adorable little boy is our son when he was about 4, he was fishing in the yard, haha.
This is my little creation that I just got done making, The tutorial will be on here as well. Every morning I look at this wall so I figured I would put something useful here. I have my prayer list, a bible verse for the week and a good thought for the week. I think if I leave them up all week and look at them every morning they should sink in. There is no better way to start the day than with Jesus, He makes my days amazing! These will also be available as free printables for you!
This is a side view but I wanted you to see it because I love the green lamp, wreaths and tray. I didn't want a lot of color in here but I did really like these items. They are all things I have had for a long time, if I really like something it tends to stick around, just in different areas around the house.
Here is the completed room! It turned out really pretty, if I do say so myself ;) It has a quiet feel to it I think. I always have liked a serene feel in my bedroom and the times that it hasn't been I'm just changing things around and redecorating until it feels serene again. I hope you have enjoyed this, I certainly enjoyed doing this make-over!
The gray under bedding is from Target.com, The pom pom blanket is from Hobby Lobby, The frames are from Hobby Lobby, The merciful God sign is ours it can be found in our shop. All the rest is thrift shop finds or family hand-me-downs or things I have had for so long I can't remember where they came from :)
Much love and blessings to you,
I Thought I would post a wood sign collage. We have been so busy through the holidays getting all of our orders out and I have to say, I feel so blessed to be able to sit back and look at what all we have accomplished! To be able to do what I love every single day is truly a blessing. We rarely blog about our signs but with out our signs we wouldn't be where we are today! I have been trying to get pictures of mutiple signs together! Here is a sneak peek! More to come soon I hope you enjoy!!
Much love to you!!
Welcome, come on in and Merry Christmas you you!
Christmas is one of our favorite times of the year, we love to celebrate the birth of our Savior and give presents and all the food and family and fun, it's fitting that the biggest celebration around is Jesus Birthday!
I thought I would start with our tree, I was attempting "rustic glam" haha, If that is even a thing?? My intent was to do a neutral palette and use the green from the trees and wreaths, anyway, here we go...
The tree is a 9ft slim, the ornaments are pine cones, a burlap-ish top ribbon and silver, white and crystal type ornaments. I also have white doves on it that we made as well as some peace, joy and noel cutouts in silver and the tree is sitting in an old galvanized tub, my favorite part.
The four part art wreath on the wall is the newest addition to our shop, I am constantly changing my house and as I'm changing things I always have new art in mind, I hope you like it.
Here is a nice view of the living room, Robin gave me my Christmas present early ( a new rug) I love it! It's from USA rugs and it's soft soft and plush, I highly recommend it.
I put a real mixed pine wreath in the window, since our tree is "faux" I still like to have some fresh pine in the house to make it smell good, I bought them plain and added the burlap and pine cones and the little white feather trees are super cute with the sleigh.
We made this lovely little chalk board, I thought it would be a nice addition to write all of our holiday messages and greetings on.
I have several small trees that I sprayed with fake snow and they turned out really well, it ended up being about half to whole can per little tree, depending on its size if you would like to do the same.
The adorable sweater button pillow is from ikea, so is our sectional yay!! super excited about it! It only took me a year to talk the hubs into a white sofa and even though we have it I still don't think he's convinced, I think my only saving grace is that it's slip covers that can all be taken off and washed. But seriously, I love this sofa, it completes me! hahaha
This pic is a little blurry but I wanted you to see my Michigan pillow, it was favorite purchase from a craft show we recently were in, it has a little red button heart where we live.
Here is a close-up of the feather trees, these little guys were very easy and fast to make. I just rolled a piece of cardstock into a cone shape, taped it and hot glued on white feathers (kid craft white feathers)
I love love this pic, I had to add it. This is Matt 1:21, such a beautiful verse and one of my favorites. "Jesus is the reason for the season"
Yes, even the bedrooms get trees =]
Here's another mini tree, I love these little trees, with some birch candle stick holders from Hobby Lobby with a galvanized bucket full of pine cones, Randee and I went all over our town finding different pine cones, it was quite fun! Randee also got me this wine rack and I painted the bottom a griege color and the top white and distressed it, I love San Pelegrino water bottles, and they're green so they fit right in.
This is my beautiful picture of Jesus that my mom drew for me for my birthday and the grandkids furry stockings.
And one last pic of our tree at night, I had to add it, it was so pretty. We were all here watching "It's a wonderful life" and it made me think of you all and the part you have all played in making our lives so wonderful! God's very best blessings and peace and joy from us to you! Merry Christmas, I hope you have a great one!
Here is my house tour! (this is Robin by the way) I figured I would start out with some before and afters of when we first bought our house! We have come a long way! After I put these collages together I realized that we really have done a lot!
So Here is the Actual start of my House tour!. This is my Living room slash Kitchen area. Before, I am still searching for a picture but there use to be a wall separating the two and as soon as we moved in we figured the wall had to go! It is made it so nice for us to all enjoy our time together in one big room. I have come to the conclusion that back in the 70's they really liked there walls!
This is The Beauty Shop!
I did in the past go to Douglas J. Aveda Institute and got my license, and since I solely do signs now I figured I needed my own space to still enjoy the art of doing hair!. We have made a lot of use out of this room since there are so many girls in my family this is our spot to come down and relax while I do all the work! Haha just kidding I love it down here as well! Behind the curtains is our sewing/craft room! But we had a lot of stuff going on back there so I thoughtI would spare your eyes the mess!
Here is just one lonely picture of my bathroom but, I love waking up to this it gives me motivation for the day =] I have a lot of updating to do in here so someday I will have before and after pics on here of this!
Here's my Bedroom. These two pictures I love so much, one is painted by my mom and one is painted by me. They are copies of the blue nude by Picaso. Although they are very different from his (because he was amazing) but we though we would give it a try! =]
Whitney's Room. I just love her room, a lot of times I will just go in there and lay on the bed and stare at how cute it is! This room has so many things that people bought for her and were able to display in her room, She has done so much healing after losing Ryan she was just what our family needed as she is the first grandchild on my side of the family. She also joined into my niece's and nephews on Isaac's side of the family (my husband). Another cool thing, when I was pregnant for her my two sister in laws were also pregnant with babies as well so she has some very very close cousins!
Isaac & Cole's Bedroom. I had so much fun decorating this room for them. It is a tiny room but we managed to fit so much in here for them! I love the tribal theme that people are coming out with and I just had to have a little bit of it in my house! The closet did end up having a dresser in it for Cole, but I did some extra little things in there so they can still hang some stuff up! I do still want to add some more storage components in there but for now this is what it is! =] Also when we first moved in the little door in his room really creeped me out but now I love it the outside of the door is a chalk board so the kids can write on it and they play in there all the time. They Love it!
Well that is the end of my house tour! I hope you enjoyed and leave some feedback I am always up to doing something new! Thank you for looking!
This is made using only Three items and costs less than $20 to make and it looks and smells Beauty-Fall!
- 12 inch grapevine wreath $4.99
- floral wire $2.99
- large bouquet eucalyptus $19.99 (use 40% off coupon)
We got our supplies at Hobby Lobby, but I'm sure these items can be purchased most anywhere that sells craft supplies. Our price list is from Hobby Lobby.
This is what you should get with the large eucalyptus bouquet if you purchase from Hobby Lobby, the regular eucalyptus/far right, silver dollar/center & leaf type/ left side. I have separated it so I know what I have.
You will need cut sections of floral wire, about arms length pieces, long enough to work with but not to long to get tangled.
You will start by putting a stem in the grapevine wreath itself to secure it so you can get the wire started, then start the wire by wrapping it a couple of times around the wreath and secure it by twisting a knot in one end leaving a long piece of wire to start wrapping your stems.
Now you will just start laying your eucalyptus stems around and wrapping each with the wire, once you get a few times around with your floral wire you will have some help holding your stems in place. With this particular wreath you will leave the tip ends of your stems out so they form the spray look.
This is to show you the tips of the stems out, I left out about 5-6 inches because I really like the fuller look but if you would like a thinner looking wreath just wrap your tips up tighter.
This is most of it wrapped around, when you get all the way around you may need to trim a little and add some sprigs just so it is even all the way around.
So here is our finished wreath, I love it and it smells beauty-Fall!
Don't mind our blank signs in the back ground, we're trying to decide what we want in this spot and still have not as of yet, ha!
We hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and happy wreath making to you.
God's blessings to you!
much love, Tracy
